Funding Approved Through December 2012!

LCRSP is happy to announce that funding for our skate park will continue through December 2012! Thank you to everyone who has supported the park this past year. Special thanks to Council Member Rose Herrera, Paul Murphy, Carol Kruger and the SOS group. Many thanks to everyone who got involved and campaigned for us to keep the park open. LCRSP is lucky to have such amazing supporters!

With all the hard work and dedication from all of you guys, we hope to provide another amazing year to come. Please look forward to future events and updates. You can stay updated by following us at our facebook page, twitter, and also check out the new LCRSP blog, created by parents of SOS group, to help inform the public about LCRSP status and other updates (Thanks guys!).

The Winter Skate/BMX Camp is still in progress but you can still sign up for February and Spring break camps. February camps begin Feb 20- 24, 2012. Call us to sign up or sign up the day of.

Holiday Hours and Winter Hours of Operation

Hey everyone, the holidays are here and that means our hours are changing again! Effective 12-19-11, hours of operation are as follows:

Monday (12/19/11) - 1:00 p.m - SUNSET
Tuesday - Friday (12/20/11-12/23/11) - 1:00 p.m - 9:30 p.m
Christmas Eve - 9:00 a.m - SUNSET
Christmas Day - CLOSED
Monday 12/26/11 - 10:00 a.m SUNSET
New Year's Eve - 9:00 a.m - SUNSET
New Year' Day - CLOSED

We will now have mixed sessions everyday starting Dec 19, 2011. This includes Skateboarding, BMX, scooters and inline.

Winter Hours of Operation as of January 4th, 2012 are as follows:

Monday : CLOSED
Tuesday : CLOSED
Wednesday - Friday: 3:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m
Saturday : 9:00 a.m - 9:00 p.m
Sunday : 9:00 a.m - 1/2 hour before sunset

Please note that these dates and times includes ALL sessions (skateboarding, BMX, scooters and inline)


Upcoming BMX/Skate Camps

BMX/Skate Camps are back on again! This time, LCRSP is offering camps running through Winter to Spring break. Each camp is a week long and goes from 10am-1pm. To sign up for camps, download the registration form here.

Camp Dates

Winter Camps - Dec 19 - 23, 2011
February Camps - Feb 20 - 24, 2012
Spring Camps - Apr 9- 13, 2012

Cost: $150 per week
Time: 10am - 1 pm
*additional fee of $48 for participants who would like to start at 9am


Participate in the Canned Food Drive and get a 2 for 1 admission to LCRSP

Hey Guys! LCRSP is now offering a 2 for one admission to skate/ride at the skatepark when you participate in the LCRSP's Canned Food Drive this season!

From now until December 15th, bring in 5 cans every Tuesdays and receive a 2 for one pass on the day of your donation! All donations must be nutritious and non-perishable (for a complete list of most-needed items, click here).

Council Member Herrara recently announced that a bridge funding has been accepted in order to keep LCRSP staffed until February 2012. Thank you to everyone who have supported us and participated in keeping our park in business. A special thanks to the SOS (Save the Skate park) group and everyone who have been active in finding ways to save our park. We appreciate all your dedication and hard work. We hope that we continue to meet your expectations and to make the skate park the most enjoyable and the safe and welcoming environment that it is known for. Additionally, we will continue to find ways to keep our Skate Park running. Thank you!

Here are some more ways you can help to keep LCRSP staffed. Below we offer:

Wall of Fame Contest, Skate the Lake, Hookit.com Spots & Sessions Tour.

Would you like to be on LCRSP’s Wall of Fame? Visit our skate park and ask LCRSP staff about how you can enter in the Wall of Fame contest. Read details below:

WHO •  Local photographers, skaters and Bmx Riders.
WHAT • Photo Contest showcasing local talent of photographers, Skaters and BMX riders alike.
WHEN • Photos will be displayed for a total of three months at LCRSP. Visitors will vote on their favorite photo & after three months, a winner will be chosen.
WHERE • Contestants will print an 8 ½ x 11 inch print (black/white or color) of someone skating/riding at LCRSP. The photos will be displayed inside the skate park office.
WHY • To promote skating and bmx riding at LCRSP as well as the art of photography.

LCRSP will be hosting many spring events ahead. Please click on the banners on the right for upcoming April events, such as the Bunny Hop/Ollie Contest and next GRO sessions scheduled on April 30th.

Updates regarding "Old School BMX Show & Contest."

Date: May 7th, 2011
Park registration starts at: 10am-1pm.
Competition starts at: 2pm
Cost: $10 riders/ $3 spectators
Parking fee: $6
- Awards and prizes goes to the top 3 contestants in each class.
- LCRSP will reopen at 6:30pm to regular skatepark schedule.

Need some volunteer hours for school? Just want to help out your local skate park or community?
Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park Volunteer Program may be the right choice for you!
Our volunteer program allows individuals to gain work experiece in such fields as:

  • Park Maintenance
  • Park Operations
  • Customer Service
  • Recreation Staff Assistance

  • Visit the LCRSP facility for information about volunteer work here at LCRSP.

    LCRSP will be closed from 10 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. this Saturday (April 2, 2011). We will reopen from 3:00p.m - 9:00 p.m.
