Over a 6 month period, the Focus Group is expected to conduct 4 meetings. The following issues are to be addressed:
- Review traffic engineering report on pedestrian safety at mid-block crossings.
- Review conceptual level report for feasibility of a pedestrian bridge structure at Highway 87/ JPB interface. Report would result from interviews with City, Caltrans, Caltrain, JPB, etc. about environmental, space and engineering challenges. Report would offer a cost estimate.
- Review Police Department report on CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) principals and any specific issues with a future trail alignment along industrial uses
- Review PBCE memorandum concerning the general plan’s designation of land uses along the eastern alignment and capability to require trail development.
- Review PRNS memorandum on existing funding sources and alternative sources available for trail development.
- Task Force to provide City with additional alternative funding strategies/sources to fund acquisition of the project (this task acknowledges that the City Council has the final say on how funds are sought and allocated).
- Review assessment of attribute of pedestrian/bicycle enhancements along Alma Avenue.
