Please observe the following rules that have been adopted to help make your park visits safe and enjoyable.
Parks open at sunrise and close one hour after sunset.
Lighted ballfields remain open during events scheduled by the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services.
Lighted tennis courts remain open when the court lighting is operating.
Dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times and owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs.
Unless permitted by the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services, no intoxicating beverage of any kind is allowed in any area of our parks.
Guns and dangerous instruments are not allowed in our parks.
Picnic areas are on a first come, first served basis.
Outdoor cooking fires must be in a stove, fireplace, barbecue pit, or camp stove, used safely in designated picnic or cooking areas.
Powered model airplanes, boats, cars, or rockets are not allowed.
Operation of any loudspeaker or sound amplifier is prohibited unless permitted by the Chief of Police and operation of such a device follows the conditions set by the Director of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services.
Golf practice is not allowed.
Smoking is prohibited in any area owned leased or occupied by the City including; sidewalks, trails and pathways in or around park facilities, park strips and other grounds of any park and within twenty-five (25) feet of any entrance, exit, operable window, or intake opening of any golf course, community center or library. The ban also includes all special events held in City parks
All other San José Municipal Code and state laws shall apply to our parks.
